[This book was written by Dorothy and David Counts, who are both anthropology professors.
It is a scholarly look at the RVing lifestyle. (The word ethnography means a description
of a group of people.) The authors live and study the RV lifestyle, finding it quite
different than many outsiders would imagine. For example, it would seem that RVers, who
travel frequently, would necessarily be loners. Instead they find a very strong sense of
community among RVers and a sense of belonging. These are the very feelings that many
people say is missing from modern life. The book is quite readable and should be read by

Yucatan, and the Central Highlands. It even has an RVers vocabulary, so that you can ask

6751 The RV Rating Book $68.00
[About the size of a big city phone book, this reference guide lists approximately 10,000
RVs built between 1992 and 1996. For each model it shows the selling price when new, the
vehicle length, its weight and several other measurements. More important though are the
ratings. With this guide you can compare one RV against another on several criteria. For
example, each RV is assigned a Livability Code indicating the use for which it is most
suitable (weekending, vacationing, full-timing, etc.). Each RV model is also given a
rating for highway safety, for durability and for value. If a model achieves high enough
scores it is awarded one, two or three stars. This really makes shopping for an RV much
less confusing. You can quickly get a good idea which makes and models are high quality
and which are perhaps best avoided. Even if you are shopping for a unit outside the model
